Thanks...unfortunately, as you know...I easily aquire a sense of "obsessive compulsiveness" when it comes to my cars. The black Lincoln was(is) my pride and joy...I nurtured that car FAR beyond whatever the factory had in mind for it. it was the cleanest, sleekest, lowest, best handling Lincoln one would/could find around....not the fas-*test*-('"), but still PLENTY fast. I used to wash it/detail it religiously...and one day my neighbor even said "you'll wash the paint right off that car some day"
...he was right...well, not really...but as many other cars out there, Ford's black paint never fares too well. The clearcoat begins to deteriorate, and fade, then peel...like a nuclear outbreak, my glistening black car began to turn in to a peeling white mess....
my pride and joy, the fruits of my labor...gone. and with it, my enfatuation...I started to lose interest in the car. It became an embarassment to drive...no more shows, no more car club events....
but...it helped me find a new object of obsession...my HHR. I still have "Black Ice"....but it is now a part timer...I plan to have it re-painted soon...it still looks pretty good...but knowing what it was, it's hard to enjoy it as much. It's like driving around with a massive dent in your door....an eye-sore.
Wow...cool rides Smoke Wagon...thanks for sharing those with us.

'00 GMC Sonoma Stepside Pickup (Daily Driver)
'07 Suburu Outback Wagon (Wife's car)
Also have '89 GMC full size pickup I took off road last year after 250k

well, we traded the GMC Suburban back for our 95 1/2 ton suburban...the 3/4 ton 2wd had some steering issues...sure the 454 big block was nice...but it didnt tow right, steer right, and 7mpg wasnt real cool...so, edit my fleet to say 95 suburban, and omit the 92.
as for where I keep them all?
the 2 Mark VIII's are at home, with my HHR, and our Suburban.
the Roadrunner is stored at Brenda's brother's house, along side his '70 Cuda 440-6pack 4-speed car, and our drag truck "Peanut" is stored at the shop....
at one point, we had 2 tow vehicles(76 GMC 3/4 ton pick up, and a 1985 Ford F-250 4x4 with a 460 powered on propane), 2 race cars(1970 and 1971 matching hilborn-injected 440 Dodge Darts on alcohol), 2 trailers, 2 Mark VIII's, and the roadrunner....we've consolidated(shrunk) our fleet significantly over the years.
