Hi All! Being new to the site, I would really like to meet other HHR enthusiasts. I'm about 45 minutes southwest of Ocean City, Md. on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Would love to get together there and maybe bring some other owners from down here. Would love to get a local club going here. Don :2:

There is another group of HHR folks getting together in Gettysburg, PA, on May 17. I have offered to DJ for free (I do 50's sock hops) at that G2G, BUT today someone wrote something on their forum and I'm not sure I want to stay connected with them. And then I found THIS wonderful forum. (THANK YOU SMOKE!!) If the folks on this forum do want to get together I suggest we stay away from Ocean City, MD, only because it is SOOOOOO crowded from Spring until the end of summer AND the room rates are very HIGH. I would like to offer a suggestion: We pick a town near a major city, like Wash DC, approach a Chevy Dealership and have a G2G at the dealership during the day, and then get a ballroom in the evening for a 1950's sock hop. (I will DJ.)

I don't mind doing some of the organizing if it will be in Maryland, between Gaithersburg and Frederick. (BTW...A lot of car folks have G2Gs at the Holiday Inn in Frederick, MD, by the FSK mall.) Let me know what you think. Peace, Barry Lyons IV aka MWG2

I have to save up my vacation time for a possible drive across country in August. My twin girls, God willing, will be attending Loyola Marymount University in LA (they've already been accepted) , that is, if the financial assistance comes through (Two kids at LMU = $92,000 per year....OUCH!!!!) Anyway, we will have to drive then and I will only have enough vacation time saved up for one trip. BUT if they end up going to Drexel University (and that is a bigger OUCH....$102,000 per year, and yes they have already been accepted there too) then I will have time to come to the Route 66 G2G...but no promises at this juncture...every penny is being saved for the twins college. I have put everything in God's Hands. Divine Mercy says, "Jesus, I Trust In You." So, we have filled out all the financial forms, and now we just trust. They may end up going to Jr. College too...we just don't know at this juncture. It comes down to $$$$. WOW...this was a long answer to your invitation...sorry about that. Peace, MWG2

totally understand we would love to have you and i totally understand college and expenses i put myself thru college.

i picked NJ bc its closest to where i am.. although the other cities arent so bad to travel to either.. would have to see the dates and everythign if i were to go but id love to do an east coast run
