Ok Mike here you go!! First you got to take this bracket off the engine it look like a ring in this pic. They use this in the factory to install the engine and hold the old filter box you don't need it look at this first forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4808" target="_blank">http://hhrchevyfamily.19.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4808 then take the back of the filter off unscrewing 4 screws on the outer filter then take the filter with the fat end facing the radiator hose. Pull it away from the filter and you got to play with it to get it in. it might take another person to help you with that.

Thanks for the info, but I do have a question for you. Once you take that bracket off where does the intake mount to? The mounting bracket on mine went to that mount you said to take off. Can you show a picture of where your intake is secured at? Maybe a picture of the complete system?

I have an air raid. Like it and was quite simple to put on. Don't know anything about the one's above

MIKE can you see where it mounts on the valve cover useing the valve cover bolt thats the only place it will bolt too. The valve cover bolt is a little tricky to remove it has a rubber bushing. I did not use the chrome brackets that came with it. You can if you like.

Thanks for the picture Nik. Can you post here if you should have a problem with the mounting point like the bolt backing out or if the rocker cover leaks at that mounting point? BTW I do see now why my pipe was sitting right up under the hood strut because I was mounting it to that bracket you said to remove Thanks

BTW Scarecrow kicks butt on the road now!!

I bought the Weapon R secret weapon intake for my 2.2 . If i had it to do again, i would have gotten the Dragon intake as the 'Secret Weapon" is not a dual chambered intake like they promote, but a single chamber tube. I, like Scarecrow, used the valve cover bolt instead of the suggested factory airbox mount as it would not fit right otherwise. The filter looks nice, but i could not get the plastic airfilter cover in over the filter, even in the engine compartment. I was also supposed to get the Ram Air II setup but it never showed. Overall i am not that impressed, bottom end is non existant, but top end and midrange seems a bit more powerful. I should have gotten the CGS intake as an afterthought but i will definately try to get this system to work for me. Next mod is the IMCO 924 muffler. cruzerjd

welcome aboard to be honest, most of the mods done to the HHR seem to help mid to top end the CGS Axelback gave me back some low end and was really appreciated. :welcome:
