Okay, so I've anxiously waited over a week for my local dealer to find another dealer willing to trade them an '08 LS in Victory Red. Seems a Budweiser distributor in Pine Bluff ordered one, then told the dealer it'd be a month or two before they picked it up. Fine, they'll trade this one and give Bud Man one from the next truckload.
It's finally delivery day, and I know I'm going to pick it up after work. All day long I've got Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride And Joy" stuck in my head. Appropriate in so many ways...
So I get off work and go to the dealership. Salesman's not done with the paperwork, so he gives me the keys and says "Go ahead and check her out. Make sure everything's right."
I unlock the doors, sit down in the blistering, 100+ degree heat of new car smell, and crank the AC. Power windows work, too. Good. Get rid of this hot air...radio...program in my presets...one of two local classic rock stations..
And then it starts.
As if on-cue, the VERY OPENING NOTES of the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride And Joy!" Could it have been any more amazingly perfect timing?
Oh, yeah. This is definitely meant to be my car.

Congrats on your new HHR...it's a beauty. And how ironic is it that Stevie Ray's Pride and Joy comes on...that's just spooky. :lol: My boyfriend loves SRV, so I'm very familiar with his music. Have fun with your new ride and thans for the pics and wonderful story that goes along with it.

Here is my new (as of July) 2008 LS. Ripped the dealer advertising sticker and LS/HHR/GM emblems off the back and sides shortly after getting it home. Other customizing to come soon!
