Spike Premiere - UFC® 84: Penn vs Sherk- 7-26-08
Looks like UFC is trying to keep up the competition for ratings w Elite MMA Spike is re-airing UFC 84: Penn VS Sherk at 9 ET/PT CBS has Elite MMA on at the same time for 2 hours DVR time on one of them or both and all free. Got to love competition

Yet another move by Dana to prove that he's scared, although if you were to ask him, he'll never admit to it. I plan to tune into EliteXC.

There were a lot of quick matches this past weekend. Lot of quick TKO's.

very true on the quick fights the fights on Elite MMA were pretty good as well. Diaz had a good fight too.

Alright CJ, you're going to see me make a comment about Diaz that isn't shooting him down. Take note, as this doesn't happen too often :rof: He had a good fight on Saturday - granted, it was against a guy who hasn't done a lot and was a serious underdog, but nonetheless, Diaz fought well. However, the thing about Diaz that makes me nervous as a fight fan is his defense... there really isn't any. He has very little head movement, and he takes a lot of punches. If he doesn't work on improving this by the time his fight with Koons comes up, that could prove to be his downfall. Even the toughest jaw can be taken out with the one perfect punch. As far as other fights on the Elite card - Cyborg is a very appropriate name for the next contender for the women's title. She looked unstoppable, and her match against Gina should be good.

i agree on the dodging punches but to me that is the real problem w alot of MMA fighters. no punch defense the first real person that did it the right way was when i saw Coture beat Silva and he ducked and weaved and slipped punches like a really good boxer. that and adding punches after kicks which is what we were taught alot in Karate. combinations of punches always follows or leads a kick. shame they wont let the ladies go 3 rounds and Cyborg looked great. very strong and hard hitter and extremely determined. she could give some guys a run for their money
