spark plugs
has anyone put in those 4 post spark plugs? if so was there any increase/decrease in mileage?

CowboyBornLate- 09-19-2006

I believe CJ has the Bosch +4 on Shaggy. From what I recall he could tell a difference, but I'll wait and let him respond to you in detail. I have mine on order as the local O'Reilly's didn't have them in stock. Mine should be in tommorrow along with my ceramic brake pads. Yeppers, she is squealin a bit on me at 40K miles now... If I can just find the time now to put the new plugs and pads on I'll be doing good! lol CBL

I changed mine over to the bosch +4s. I could tell an increase in the mid range. When I say increase, it's not like adding a turbo, we are just talking aout spark plugs. but I could tell it accelerated better through the mid-range. My motor is the 2.2 and this was a butt dyno -*test*-('"). Mike at Socal has -*test*-('")ed his 2.4 with no reported increase. He uses fancy electronic things to measure performance. I think he mentioned something about -*test*-('")ing other plugs, would like to know what you found Mike. :D

I have the Bosch Platinum 4's. They are great. You can instantly tell the extra acceleration around midrange. Also, if you do any long distance travelling, it'll actually save you a little more on gas. I'm thinking at least an additional gallon or two per gallon.

well, I put in the Bosch +4's today!!! No dyno, but the seat-o-meter can definitely tell a difference! There was already a how-to on the plugs, so I didn't bother taking pics of the process, but here's a quick pic of my old plugs... with a lil over 40K miles on them CBL

TX-HHR- 09-24-2006

I'd say those plugs look good for 40K, but I'm sure you'll get a boost out of the bosch plugs.

CowboyBornLate- 09-25-2006

I can definitely tell a difference in performance... I drove to Dallas tonight to spend the night with my folks before getting on a plane at DFW in the morning. The old plugs were still in pretty good shape. Yes, it has more than 40K miles on it, but you have to keep in mind, 90% of those are highway miles, not a lot of stop/go happening... I'm sure I could have gotten 100K out of em, but hey, I'm liking the pep I've got now... CBL

got mine in and what a difference
