Soldiers
I got this in my e-mail today Everyone please help Great Idea!!! When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue,NW Washington , D.C. 20307-5001 pass it on

OK, before you get real excited....... I did this last year and after about 8 weeks I got my card back with a nice little note. They haven't accepted cards or boxes for that matter, addressed to non-specific soldiers since shortly after 9/11. They consider it a safety/security risk. I got a nice list of places to donate funds to ~ basically you can google for military donations and find organizations that you can send things to or that will actually give you the name of someone you can send cards/boxes to.

Thanks Lizzie...

I checked on what REDFLYR posted. I called Walter Reed and they will accept the cards BUT you must not seal the envelope and send it here: The only difference is line two you enter RED CROSS A Recovering American Soldier Red Cross c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue,NW Washington , D.C. 20307-5001 It's a good thought and I know they will appricate the cards. Thanks everyone.
