New finish for the Black Stubby antenna is now in stock. Yes we now have Power painted Black Stubbys in stock, they will replace the painted black.
I have been looking at durability improvements and the powder paint looks to be a much needed inprovement.
And Charles will be the proud owner of the first Powder Black Stubby. It will look real good on that SS... :goodjob:
Looking forward to it my old black one is loosing its paint.
Thanks Tom
my stubby.....paint is off....
Tom how much including freight, to get a black stubby for Hobbs.
Gee what have you guys done to your Stubbys?
I have had my black stubby on for over 1 1/2 yrs,,,still black?
Please tell me what you have done,,then I can avoid doing the same!
Mine has been on since 12/05
For the Chrome Stubby, You can clean them up real good with Brillo pads wipe them down with acetone to get them clean and spray them with a good clear coat - 3 coats.. Don't get the cheaper stuff, you will redo them again.
The issue with the original vendor to Socal was using cheep chrome or not properly prepped. I see Hydraulic cylinder rods with improper preparation at work and at customers. They rust even when used all the time.
Dan will have a powder coated one on the way and expect it to take 12 business days to Canada.
very cool Tom...thanks...it will like sweet for the carshows.....comeing soon....summer only it will be on...
Thanks for the bump. I love the stubbies. Do you loose any reception with them? Deb
I listen to XM 99% of the time but when I do listen to FM I do not have problems.

That's what I'm wondering too. We use several different ones on our radios at work, including stubbies.
