size 4 door speakers
HI all i'm looking for 4 new side doors speaker JBL 6.5 180 watts ( $99 CDN the set ) what is the original specification size and watts for the GM units and what have you instaled in yours BIG AL ps: i have been ask to participate in a local truck calendar for 2008 with the WOODY i will know more this weekend. I dont know what the specs are on the original speakers. i took mine out and put in JL 650 CSIs in front and back seat to give me 8 speakers. 12" sub in back. add the 3 amps and it made a huge difference. Congrats on the Calendar ur HHR looks great.

I think they are 6 3/4-just slightly bigger than 6 1/2

Just replaced all speakers in doors with 61/2" Kickers, and put two 10's in the back with two amps. Sounds great :band:

When replacing the speakers it's my understanding that there is a trim piece that needs to be removed from the old one at least on the 2006 model ifyou go with the 6 1/2"...is that correct? Thought about changing the speakers, but I'm pretty pleased with what I have for now...especially since I don't drive it all that much. Maybe I can do something before the Tulsa run.

I dont understand what has to be trimmed for the 6 1/2 to fit. There is a plastic cup that attaches to the door with one bolt, and the speakers attach to the cup with 4 screws. The 6 3/4 fit right into the cup, and the 4 holes line up perfectly.

Thanks all last time we talk, i bought 4 Infinity 6012i speakers 6.5 ,180 watts, and 2 subs speakers 10 inch infinity1030w series,with box, 2 infinity weeters 1021t series 1 alpine amplifier 800 watts mono for the subs 1 alpine amplifier 1000 watts/4x channels for the doors can you say ARE YOU CRAZY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what the heck were you think king thats too mutch why not ? they will hear me commin' from miles HA! HA! HA! i will take pics during the instalation BIG AL :lol:

i think it will sound nice shame you took ur pics off the photobucket site. they are gone now in the Woody gallery site the small pics are cool on ur sig but the big pics are nicer
